First Tries and Baby Steps

As you can see, this is a beginning version of what we hope our teacher blog can be! It will be a group blog, so that everyone will be able to write posts, upload photos, videos, and share the amazing thinking that is going on around our school every day.
We hope it will be a place to engage in deep-thinking conversations that will result in improving our teaching and raising our students to a new level in their learning.
Let me know what you would like to add or change about our blog, and I will make it happen.
Thanks for your input, and I look forward to our future as a blogging community...

  1. As I I sit here I can't help but be excited for the upcoming school year. We have talented teachers and support staff, so we are bound to make a difference in the lives of our students every day. We have been renewed, having spent time with our family and friends, now it's time to get back to what we have been educated to do, teach children to the best of our ability! I look forward to working hard with each and every one of you. Welcome back!

    1. I agree! I am so excited to try out the new reading ideas from my recent favorite book, Teaching Reading with Small Groups. I think I finally (after 13 years!) might have a plan of how to teach reading better...Maybe we can do another book club on this one? I know I can sure use help working out how to focus on teaching each child their next appropriate strategy, and on identifying the right text complexity for them.
      Any offers?
